Me & the sport

Horse riding is my all time favorite sport since it involves interacting with animals; in this case, horses. I have been riding horses for about 4 years in total now. It began when I was around 6 years old, on Shetland ponies and later on bigger ponies. After years of doing this sport, I fell of a pony harder than usual, which caused me some mental trauma (nothing very bad, it was just a shock) and anxiety around horse riding. That happening made me quit the sport with the intention of returning later. Many years later, I had actually forgotten about the sport and how fun it was. Until recently, when I was trying to find myself a sport to do again. I am very picky with sports since I am not a huge fan of it. Horse riding however, I wanted to try again. I was pretty anxious about it but I didn't let that get me in the way again. Now (beginning of February 2023) I am riding horse weekly with private lessons, and it's been more fun than ever. I also picked up my skills pretty easily, because it will always stay in your brain once you've learn it. Since I am older now, I started riding horses too instead of just ponies. Still, I ride more often on a pony named Stella, of the Haflinger horse-breed. Stella has a habit of bucking when she is upset about something, and bucked the first time I used a whip on her during a lesson. It shocked me a little bit but I handled the situation much better than I would before the long break. I've rode Stella more than 5 times now and I can tell she's starting to get used to me. I don't need to use a whip on her, not even when she is bucking or behaving stubborn. Besides this horse, I also ride others (changes every lesson). One time I rode the biggest horse of the equestrian I ride at, which I am proud of! I hope to continue this amazing sport for many years.
