Here I will explain the basics of Minecraft.

Minecraft is a sandbox survival game, playable on:

enderdragon One of the main goals of this game is to beat a boss called "the Enderdragon". Although if you prefer to set your goals somewhere else, you are free to do so. In Minecraft, you can do whatever you like. My personal favorite activity is building houses or mining ores in caves (looking for those diamonds ofcourse ;)).

For building, there is a special gamemode called "Creative". In this gamemode, you can fly and build uninterrupted since you are unable to lose health; you're immortal. On the other hand, in the "Survival" gamemode you will be able to lose health and hunger.

dirt-house To stay alive, you have to find food to eat and protect yourself from or fight the monsters that will spawn at night. Some monsters (zombies, skeletons) will slowly burn/die if they're exposed to the sunlight during daytime. The others will stay alive until you kill them or if you're far out of their range.

bed-craftingtableDuring the first few in-game days, the best you can do is build a quick house out of cheap materials, and stay in it for the night. If you can find sheeps to gather wool from to craft a bed, do so as soon as you can since sleeping in a bed allows you to skip the night and wake up at morning.

Minecraft in my childhood

minecraft2012 I've played Minecraft since I was about 6 years old. I remember playing it all the time, always with friends or with my little brother, and on my iPad mini. Minecraft is probably the game that I have the most childhood memories of. But strangely enough, playing the game doesn't give me much of a nostalgic feeling. That is because I still continue to play it every once in a while, and I continue to make new Minecraft memories.

Minecraft has been a great creative outlet for me. The amount of challenges you can take on, houses you can build, monsters you can fight, will never not be entertaining. I'm so glad Minecraft was a part of my childhood. :)
